You know the scene.
You need to switch from a bucket to a breaker.
You park the machine. Climb down. Find the hammer. Knock out the pins. Fight with frozen bushings.
15 minutes later, you’re back in the cab.
Now imagine pushing a button from your seat. The old bucket drops. The new attachment locks in.
That’s what an excavator quick attach does. No tools. No sweat. No smashed fingers.

What Is An Excavator Quick Attach Anyway?
It’s a steel coupler that sits between your excavator arm and your attachments (bucket, breaker, grapple, auger).
Instead of having a solid pin connection, the coupler has movable locking wedges.
You flip a switch inside the cab. Hydraulic pressure moves the wedges. They grab the attachment’s pins. Done.
Or for manual versions, you pull a lever from the ground – still faster than hammering pins.
The backhoe quick connect turns a 15‑minute job into a 30‑second job.
And it works on almost any brand.
Wait – Are There Different Types Of Quick Couplers?
Yes. Three main types.
1. Mechanical (manual) quick coupler
You climb down, pull a lever, or turn a screw. The wedges move mechanically. Cheaper, simpler, no hydraulics to leak. But you still leave the cab. Good for occasional changes.
2. Hydraulic quick coupler
You stay in the cab. Push a button on your joystick. Hydraulic oil flows through an electric valve, moving the wedges. Fast, safe, but it needs an extra hydraulic line and a switch in the cab. Most popular for daily changes.
3. Fully automatic hydraulic coupler (pin grabber)
The most advanced. It grabs the attachment’s pins from both sides. Some models even have an electric lock sensor that tells you “locked” or “not locked”. Extra safety.
Our excavator quick attach models are hydraulic – the sweet spot for most contractors. They work with your existing auxiliary hydraulics. No extra pump needed.
What Attachments Can You Use With A Quick Coupler?
Almost any attachment has a standard pin spacing.
- Buckets (digging, ditching, grading)
- Hydraulic breakers (hammers)
- Augers (for drilling holes)
- Grapples (for sorting scrap or logs)
- Rippers (single shank or multi)
- Compaction plates
- Shear crushers
- Thumbs (for grabbing rocks)
Important: Some attachments, like breakers, need a special adapter plate because their pin geometry is different. We can supply that.

How Much Weight Can A Quick Coupler Hold?
The coupler itself weighs 25–580 kg, depending on your excavator size.
But the lifting capacity? The coupler doesn’t reduce your machine’s rated lift. The weakest point is still the bucket pins or the arm cylinder.
Our couplers are made of high‑tensile steel. They are tested to 150% of your excavator’s maximum breakout force.
In real terms, if your excavator can lift 2 tons, the coupler can handle 3 tons. Safety margin built in.
But never use a coupler that’s too small for your machine. See the spec table below – match the model to your excavator weight.
Safe Use Of Backhoe Quick Connect – The Golden Rules
Rule 1: Always do a visual check – after locking, look at the wedges from the ground. Are they fully engaged?
Rule 2: Shake the attachment – before lifting, wiggle the attachment with your bucket curl. It shouldn’t move.
Rule 3: Engage the safety pin – our couplers have a manual backup pin. If you’re doing heavy digging or lifting people (not recommended for any coupler), insert the safety pin.
Rule 4: Regular inspection – check wedge wear every 500 hours. Grease the moving parts daily.
Rule 5: Never use a coupler with worn pins – worn pins give a false lock. Replace your bucket pins when they are more than 2 mm smaller than new.
One safety officer in Canada said, “We had a coupler failure on another brand. Switched to yours because of the double locking system. Now our operators feel safe.”
Try An Excavator Quick Attach For 30 Days – No Risk
You’re thinking: “What if it doesn’t fit my bucket? What if the wedges stick?”
We’ll ship you the coupler based on your measurements. You install it (or we can send a technician). You use it for 30 days.
If it doesn’t fit, or if it’s too slow, or if you simply don’t like it – return it. Full refund. We pay return shipping.
This offer is for the first 10 units worldwide.
One Last Truth
You bought a $50,000 excavator. You have $10,000 worth of attachments.
Every time you spend 15 minutes hammering pins, you’re losing money.
Time is the only thing you can’t buy back.
A backhoe quick connect pays for itself in saved labour within the first month – sometimes the first week.
Stop climbing. Start switching.
