A compressor air machine is a mobile air compression unit that provides a continuous supply of compressed air for industrial applications. It uses a rotary screw air end – two intermeshing rotors that trap air and compress it as they rotate. Unlike a piston compressor, a screw compressor delivers a steady, pulsation-free flow of air.
The YG portable screw compressors are diesel-powered and mounted on wheels or trailers. They are designed to be towed to job sites where electricity is not available. They are used in mining, construction, quarrying, road building, and drilling operations.
Key components of a compressor air machine include:
- Chassis – Rugged frame with wheels or skids for transport.
- Diesel engine – Powers the compressor. YG uses 162KW Yuchai engines.
- Air end – The rotary screw element that compresses the air. Single or two-stage.
- Oil system – Injects oil into the air end for lubrication, sealing, and cooling.
- Cooling system – Air-cooled or oil-cooled radiators to manage heat.
- Control panel – Monitors pressure, temperature, and engine status.

How Does a Compressor Air Machine Work?
Step 1 – Air intake. Air is drawn into the compressor through an inlet filter. The filter removes dust and debris before the air enters the air end.
Step 2 – Compression. Inside the air end, two intermeshing rotors (male and female) rotate in opposite directions. As they turn, they trap air in the spaces between the rotor lobes. The volume of these spaces decreases as the rotors rotate, compressing the air.
Step 3 – Oil injection. Oil is injected into the compression chamber during operation. The oil lubricates the rotors, seals the internal clearances, and absorbs the heat of compression. The oil-air mixture then passes through a separator to remove the oil from the compressed air.
Step 4 – Delivery. The compressed air passes through an aftercooler to reduce its temperature and a moisture separator to remove condensate. The clean, dry, compressed air is then delivered to the discharge outlet for use.
The entire process is continuous. The compressor can run for long periods without stopping.

Where Can You Use a Compressed Air Machine?
The YG portable screw compressor is suitable for many applications:
- Mining and quarrying – Powering DTH hammers, rock drills, and blasting equipment. High pressure (up to 30 bar) is required for deep hole drilling.
- Construction – Running jackhammers, breakers, sandblasters, and pneumatic tools. The 18-22 bar models are ideal for most construction sites.
- Road building and highway construction – Powering tools for road repair and paving.
- Tunnel construction – Providing air for drilling and ventilation.
- Water well drilling – Supplying air to DTH hammers and rotary drilling rigs.
- Pipeline testing – Providing high-pressure air for pressure testing pipelines.
- Shipbuilding and repair – Powering pneumatic tools in shipyards.
- Emergency and remote site operations – Anywhere a mobile air supply is needed.
The portable design means you can move the compressor to where the work is.
Key Advantages of a YG Compressor Air Machine
1. Mobile and self-contained. No electricity needed. The diesel engine provides independent power. The machine can be towed to any job site.
2. High pressure. Up to 30 bar pressure. Suitable for deep hole drilling and heavy-duty applications.
3. Continuous operation. Screw compressors deliver a steady, pulsation-free flow of air. No downtime for cooling or refilling.
4. Reliable engine. Yuchai diesel engines are known for durability and fuel efficiency.
5. Two-stage compression. For higher pressures, two-stage compression is more efficient and reduces energy consumption.
6. Durable construction. Built for tough environments – mining, construction, and heavy industry.
7. Wide flow range. 18 to 36 m³/min. Choose the model that matches your air demand.
8. Low maintenance. Screw compressors have fewer moving parts than piston compressors. Oil changes and filter replacements are the main maintenance tasks.

Conclusion – Power Your Job Site with YG
A portable screw compressor is essential equipment for any job site that needs reliable, mobile compressed air. YG offers five models with flow rates from 18 to 36 m³/min and pressures from 18 to 30 bar. All models use 162kW Yuchai diesel engines and are built for heavy-duty use. The S60T is a single-stage model for general construction. The S85D/T, S95CD/T, S100D/T, and S125D are two-stage models for higher-pressure applications like deep-hole drilling and mining. The portable design means you can move the compressor to where the work is – no power lines needed.
