How Does A Dual Shaft Shredder Machine Work?
Step 1 – Loading – You feed material into the large hopper. The hopper is wide and strong, so you can drop big items like a plastic drum or a wooden pallet.
Step 2 – Shredding – Two independent motors drive two shafts with cutting knives. The shafts rotate at low speed but with high torque. One shaft may turn slightly faster than the other, creating a shearing and tearing action. When the material enters, the hooked blades pull it down and cut it between the moving knives and fixed knives.
Step 3 – Automatic feeding – Because the two shafts work together, they automatically pull material into the cutting zone. You do not need to force-feed.
Step 4 – Jam protection – If too much material enters at once, the PLC controller detects overload. It automatically reverses the shafts to clear the jam, then resumes forward rotation. This prevents damage.
Step 5 – Discharge – Shredded pieces fall through the bottom of the machine. You can put a conveyor belt under it to carry the output to a granulator or collection bin.
